A little GRAMMA bragging

My granddaughter, Makinsi Gregory (Aaron and Sonya) is running in track. She managed to come in 1st place on her first competitve relay race and 2nd place in the 100 and 200 meter runs. I am so proud of her and of course of all my grandkids. It is wonderful to hear of their life experiences. Keep up the good work Kinsi.

Makinsi is the younger one on the right...her MOMis Sonya on the left...I don't have a more current picture (hint hint)...

Guest hand towels

Southwest themed hand towels. These can be done in any choice of patterns/themes. I chose the southwest due to the fact that I live in AZ. However, I do plan to change themes for holiday events, etc.

I wouldn't want anyone to get bored with this site.... so here is another fun towel set...Kokopeli's

What to do to pretty up a sweatshirt.

I am sure you are like me and think....A sweatshirt is for wearing only with your jeans. Wrong...take a peak at the remodel job on this sweatshirt. Bonnie Becker designed the pattern and the original idea. I can wear it anywhere, and anytime. It can be worn out to dinner or to a football game. The jacket fabrics can be changed to fit all seasons, colors, events.

This item is in production. Just let me know your size, your color choices and send $40 for the completed item.

Grocery Bag ?

This bag has the pocket with embroidery of a sunflower (since the bag came from the Sunflower market, it gave me the idea.

I added a pocket and on the pocket I made the yoyo flowers. Bee buttons are in the center of each flower.

Our quilt store had a challenge this month, to take the canvas grocery bags that stores sell us for .99 and individualize it. So here is the result of "Sunshine Market" canvas bag. The bottom is about worn out, so I will end up reinforcing it with cloth scraps as well.
Why don't all of you try changing your bags to be fun and interesting. The pieces I used were all just scraps of fabrics. The different bags that our customers did were all quite fascinating and of course original.

Arizona remembered

A reversible quilt, just completed. I took a class from Jean Hoagland entitled "stack-n-whack". It was wonderful fun, and what great designs were created. I named the quilt from childhood memories of the beautiful turquoise work done by the American Indian Natives who live in AZ. By the way, to see it in larger format, just double click on the images you wish to view.
Fabric is 100% domestic cotton. Quilt measures 72x64. This, or a custom quilt of this size can be completed for you at the low cost of $600.

Hummingbirds for Spring

These turned out very nice, even if I do say so myself. I am loving my embroidery machine....thanks to a great Santa named Bill.
I decided to do quest towels and/or tea towels and needed to pull some antics in getting the patterns to coordinate. I purchased pre-made linen towels. The embroidery pattern for the hummingbirds alone was 28 thread changes....so I was constantly changing threads and re-threading the needle.
Hope you enjoy them. Price for a set of 2 is $40. Customized to your liking- so go ahead and place your orders.

It's a new month in 2009

Well, here we go into March already... Time sure flies fast.
I was able to fix a little fun cone shaped basket and this is what it looks like.
It is small only about 8" long and 4" across the opening. I am not sure what I will do with it yet, but is cute and I did the applique by hand.
